About Me
Hi
I'm Jana (pronounced Yana) and I currently live in Toronto, Canada where I am completing a master's degree in communication and cultural studies.
I enjoy biking, dancing, good podcasts, foraging, and cooking.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I spent some time travelling in 2016* and had some of my most memorable experiences with the help of couchsurfing hosts. I have a deep appreciation for the generous hospitality I've received from the couchsurfing community and always respect people's homes as if they were my own.
*my friend Amy and I couchsurfed through her account when we travelled together so a few references went to her profile and not mine. You can cross-check here: https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/amy-pollock
I haven't been travelling as much recently, but prefer to stay with someone through couchsurfing when I do find a weekend to get away. I enjoy making shared meals, taking a walk through your favourite part of town or park, or getting to know each other over some good coffee.
I don't currently have the capacity to host people in my home as it's a very small place with a lot of busy people, but I hope to be able to in the future.
Interests
I have been trying to learn more about forest ecology this year. I'm also interested in sound and listening, neuroplasticity, and how mirror neurons work.
I spend most of my time biking, drinking coffee, dancing, and learning to play the cello.
