ABOUT ME

I'm Belgian, live near Leuven, in Flanders, but I'm pretty international-minded. I love being abroad and experience the bigger picture. After all, we all live on this ball together and if we want to keep it that way we will have to show some solidarity and cooperation.

I'm an easy-going guy, open-minded and relatively calm. I love sailing, for example, spending hours at sea, fishing and experiencing the weather and the waves. I like to get to know all kinds of people, a good talk with a beer is something i can really enjoy.

Which brings me to another thing i love: Beer :) We Belgians have beer running through our veins, we drink it every day, we can't live without it! At least I can't... I also worked in a brewery for a few months, so I'm always interested to get to know more about it, and taste, of course.

Music is another thing I love. I play base guitar in a band in my hometown, we play covers of old rock heroes, and try to make some rock ourselves as well. My iPod is filled with all kinds of music, from rock 'n roll to folk and world music, reggae, ska, latin salsa and rumba, tango and much more.

Last year I finished my studies in environmental engineer, and at the moment I'm traveling through Latin-America. I started in Mexico and I'll be traveling south the next months. I'm sure to make a stop in Colombia and there I'll decide where I'll go afterwards...

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Living in Hobart, Tasmania for a while, have some space for surfers available and might be in for a trip!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Since I only joined the couchsurfing community recently, I didn't have the chance to host any surfers. Until now, I surfed once in Cancun, Mexico, which was a great experience!

Interests

I love traveling, sailing, hiking, any way to be experiencing nature and cultures. In my free time I spend a lot of time listening or making music. Rock, reggae, folk, as long as it feels good... Another thing is sports, i play football and in winter i love to go snowboarding!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

If I have to choose one thing, It's a camp in Romania with the scouts. I went there as leader with 4 others and a group of 15 teenagers. We hiked through the mountains, spent the night in crazy villages and ended at the most relaxed beach I've ever been: Vama Veche. A great trip...
