About Me

Kind
Sincere
Frivolous
Curious
Nomadic
Pragmatic
Live from inside to outside, not reversed

: )

I'm anywhere between Belgium and Egypt at the moment.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It's hard not to be plain honest and refer to the name of this app.. Living and camping outside continously can be wearing.

Butt! 💃

Every time I've met someone on Couchsurfing, whether a hangout or a host, the gains on a humanitarian level far exceed the personal gains of a comfy couch.

What's fun is when you try Couchsurfing outside the Couchsurfing network!
Here's how I roll.
1. I smile and don't rely on a positive outcome. I always have a plan B.
2. I approach a friendly looking house.
3. I introduce myself and my buddy (my bike) and ask if it would be possible to host me for the night.
4. Offer to do something in return. Chores, mow the lawn, perform the bananatrick, ...
5. I highlight a few times anything from a dry place under a shelf is perfectly ok and that I don't rely on their kindness.
6. I keep smiling after a no because at the very least I might have lit a tiny little lightbulb in a dark room somewhere in their friendly looking house.

Interests

I'm normally interested in everything.. but currently my focus of attention is why we do what we do and what are one's bear necessities 🐻
Meanwhile I'm very much enjoying the small things. Like asking people when I'm holding a banana if they know the bananatrick :D

Music, Movies, and Books

Loads of different styles of music.
Tekno to lullabies.

I'm rediscovering my reading hunger I had as a child. Books like the whole elephant revealed by Marja de Vries, Reality by Peter Kingsley, the book of Joy by Desmond Tutu and the Dalai Lama are very interesting at the moment. But also animal stories written by Toon Tellegen.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One super amazing thing I've seen is the bananatrick in the movie 'The Dreamers'. Don't youtube it, just watch the movie

; )

Teach, Learn, Share

The bananatrick...

What I Can Share with Hosts

Myself. Not more, not less.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Croatia, France, Germany, Italy, Malta, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom
