Hey! My name is Jan and I am from Germany. I am currently studying contemporary dance in Essen. In general I like discovering things around, walk and visit museums or interesting places but in the evenings I prefer coming home and cook for myself or the people I live with. Since some years I don't eat meat but I think I know my way around preparing vegetables. In my free time I enjoy doing sports. I enjoy swimming, hiking or anything someone would like to try out with me.

Overall I would say I am an easy and nice person that doesn't need a lot. I prefer it simple over extra and if you want to go out and dance prepare yourself for some great moves.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I hardly travel to places to say that I have been there and seen all the things possible. Usually I spent more time at one place and try to get to know people there, so I have a lovely reason to revisit eventually. I think Couchsurfing gives the perfect opportunity to get to know local people, exchange with them and take the possibility to find friends.
I have to be honest I so far only made some experiences with this platform and they were mixed. Which is the reason why I used this opportunity so few.
I think this platform is a great idea and I would love to explore it further and having better experiences!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I applied to study dance without much of preexpierences. I just went to the audition saying: "here I am, I love doing this, but I don't really know how". Somehow it worked out and even thought they were not easy on me I am still doing it. And I enjoy it.
