About Me
FULLY VACCINATED :)
I'm a South African (from beautiful Cape Town) and currently working as an Operations Manager for an NGO in Maastricht. I love to travel, meet new people, learn languages, experience different cultures, and listen to and tell stories. I also love to cook, and learn recipes from different places, because I am a firm believer that food and music can teleport you to faraway places.
I volunteer part-time as a business development officer for an NGO that helps with Poverty alleviation in developing countries by implementing water and sanitation for communities that do not have this.
I am a huge wine lover - I have been working in the fine wine industry in Bordeaux, France.
A most important value for me: Be respectful and considerate - do unto others what you would want them to do to you.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
While I am living in Europe, I would like to travel and see a few places, experience new things and meet interesting people. While travelling, I would like to not just be a tourist, but get an immersed local view and experience about a place, and I think a great way to do that is by spending time with a local instead of wandering through museums.
I am also very interested in cultural diversity (I did my masters in cross-cultural management) and try to expose myself to as much of it as possible while learning from as many people as possible.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love oldies/classics, Spanish pop and Indie music, Spy-fiction novels and Action/Adventure movies.
Daniel Silva is my favourite author (do yourself a favour and read his Gabriel Allon series).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Au Pairing in Spain - I'll explain in person why this was so "amazing"....
Teach, Learn, Share
Intercultural Communication was my favourite module before I came to Europe. I can also teach English and share about South African general knowledge, history and culture.
I can teach you a bit about wine and have a few nice recipes up my sleeve ;)
While visiting you, I would love to learn a bit of your language. I love languages.
I really miss my pets back home, so if you have a cat or dog, please will you share them with me during my stay??
