About Me
What to write... I grew up in an area just outside Rotterdam, on the threshold of one of the most beautifull natural places in the Netherlands: the 'Biesbosch'. Growing up with amazing nature on the one hand, and the urban surroundings of Rotterdam on the other, i developed a love for both cities and for nature. I always love to experience and explore the vibrant and lively dynamics and meet the people that dwell in such places. At the same time i love hiking and exploring new areas of magnificent nature.
I love music. Both listening to music and playing it is amazing, especially if the experience is shared with other music-lovers. Though at this moment i am not involved with a music group, i have played with others for years and will definetely get involved with a music group in the near future.

Interests
Making music brings excitement and i love to jam with people. But also, i love to read and write some myself. Poems and short stories are a great way to create and express, i love it. I really love historic city centers and the cultures that make their history come alive. But all that sometimes still falls short of being captured by awe on a mountaintop, or by the soothing sounds of the woods...

Music, Movies, and Books
I've just finished reading 'American Gods' by Neil Gaiman, definetly recommendable! Also, ever since i read 'Triton' by Samuel R. Delany i loved science fiction. Though i have some catching up to do, i also love classical literature.
Led Zeppelin has always been my favoured music group, though i also love Supertramp, Beethoven, Tsjaikovski, Fela Kuti and so on and so on... Recently, I've started to listen more to Latin music like salsa, songo and bossanova. Basically, in this time of internet, i am as culturaly omnivorous as most people with acces to Youtube.com ;)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
It is bewildering how much amazement a life can bring, I can just wonder, one amazing thing? One thing I've done that was absolutely amazing was when we had a party at my place. One of my friends proposed a djembe-battle, which is always a lot of fun, and soon after we started drumming the playing turned in to an expanding spirit of uplifting energy that made more and more people come to dance on the beats of the drumfun. Soon, the entire attendence of the party was dancing archaic dance moves to the songs of the djembes and for what seemed like a moment out of time we all transformed, transcended the 21th century and connected with our prehistoric ancestors through our cavemen drumming and dancing. This definetly was a awesome, truely amazing thing.
Teach, Learn, Share
What i can teach? Maybe Dutch, though i've heard people say it sounds like the language of Mordor from the Lord of the Rings, so maybe not. I can definetly share the joy of jamming with people in a park when the sun shines, or inside when its cloudy.
I would love to learn about other cultures, other customs, ways of life.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share my Dutch culture with hosts, and a love for culture, nature and life. Exchange knowledge, experience, share moments, having good times.
