After retiring and starting to live on my own, I decided that rather than grow roots and watch television, I would start seeing the world. I'm lucky enough to be quite fit and able so about 5 years ago I borrowed my daughters rucksack and 'hit the road'. So now I am a 'Traveller and Writer'...well, so it says so on my website. So I have spent a large part of that last 5 years backpacking around the world for periods of 1 month to 3 months at a time. Although I love going with my little tent occasionally, I have mostly slept in about 100 hostels (dorms) with possibly 500 people over that time...making many friends in the process. I have not yet (as of July 2018, done anythjng like couchsurfing, but certainly hope to one day. Last year (2017) I did something different for a change. Over September and October I walked an 800km pilgrimage from Saint-Jean in Southern France to Santiago in North West Spain. It was an incredible experience and I now plan to do many more walks/treks both in Europe and other continents.

My children (well, grown up children), travelling, writing and singing (although don't seem to get much singing in these days because of the travelling...going stale).

I love a whole range of music dependent on my mood. I love dance music to get me going and fired up for tramping around with 16kg on my back. I love 'world' music...that is culturally different music and rhythms. Loads more.

My levels to judge this are quite high so........
I think I've seen lots of amazing things...the world being an incredible place.
I am going to say I have yet to do an 'amazing' thing...well not in my eyes although others seem to think I have.
