About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to live another dream: 3 months travelling & surfing Costa Rica, Nicaragua & Ecuador - 2 months volunteering on the Galapagos Islands!

ABOUT ME

It's not that easy to write about myself... My friends and family might say that I'm a really enthousiastic, openminded, spontanous and sympathic person they have a lot of fun with! Sometimes I might have too much energy and want to do too many things at one time! But the more I travel the more I become relaxed;-) I'm able to adapt myself to different persons and situations and I have a lot of fun doing so!
Other things important to know about me... I love animals especially dogs, love eating and cooking together with friends, like doing sports like surfing, playing tennis, jogging...Travelling is my passion, barely to notice, isn't?

PHILOSOPHY

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbour. Catch the trade wind in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover". - Mark Twain

That's what I've been doing all my life..

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I really like to meet different people from different countries, I'm interested in their way of living and thinking...

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

In New Zealand - long time ago - I've been travelling with an enthousiastic couchsurfer from Austria for 7 weeks... We spent a few nights at various couchsurfer homes in Christchurch and Adelaide. I really enjoyed these wonderful experiences! All our hosts were very nice, showed us their cities and I felt so welcome... Awesome! It would be great to make some experiences again in 2018 :-)

Interests

I love my hometown Cologne, spending time with friends & family! I've been playing tennis for more than 20 years with some of my best friends and I enjoy beeing the captain of our team and organizing everything :-)
However, the world is too big not to travel... I love exploring foreign countries, experiencing different culture & communicating in various languages, particularly French and English. My Spanish is just basic but I'll learn much more very soon in South America. I'm very keen to speak Spanish fluently as well as my brother's gilrfriend is Mexican and as she's part of the family it'd be great to be able to communicate with her family as well.
I'm also a dog lover and I'll certainly have one after my next big travel plans... I enjoy good and healthy food, cooking with friends, sports - I particularly LOVE surfing! even though I started quite late - in my early 30s...I fell in love and got addicted from the first wave I managed to ride :-)

Music, Movies, and Books

Right now, I love Bill Bryson's book "down under"! I always have to laugh while reading it... It's absolute funny, AWESOME!!
What about music? I love music! Especially alternative rock / indie... such as Coldplay, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Muse, U2, R.E.M. But I like Jack Johnson, James Blunt or the Eagles as well... And there's quite good German bands like Sportsfreunde Stiller or Clueso...
too many good music around.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

... in 2008, after 4 years in a "9to5" business routine I quit my first job to live my dream - travelling New Zealand & Australia - and it was absolutely AMAZING - and one of the best years in my life! 2 months travelling New Zealand, and 10 months living, travelling and working in Australia, including various jobs and awesome couchsurfing & woofing experienes :-)

... in 2015, my chef agreed to a 4 months sabbatical (thereof 3 months unpaid holiday) - I bought a campervan and travelled Spain for month - then I worked in a French surf camp and spent 3 months at the Atlantic ocean to surf every day ;-) another dream came true!!

... in 2017, I decided it's time to move on - and I'll quit my job soon in order to start a new adventure in January 2018: travelling & surfing COSTA RICA & NICARAGUA for 6 weeks, VOLUNTEERING on the Galapagos Islands for 2 months - and again travelling & surfing ECUADOR for another 3 weeks - I'm totally EXCITED!!!

Teach, Learn, Share

I simply love to meet new people! It's a kind of cultural exchange.
