Music, Movies, and Books

Music - my current obsession is the soundtrack from Life of Pi. I am getting very into classical Indian voice - the melismas are so distinctive and evoke a lot of atmosphere. In general, I enjoy classical music, especially piano music by Chopin (and anything from the Romantic period, really), and music with either a good beat, or a nice melody. I'm not picky, but I would say that I am not into heavy metal.

The most recent movie I watched was The Great Gatsby. I like almost everything except gore. I am not down for that.

I love reading! Some favourites include Oryx and Crake (by Margaret Atwood), The Joy Luck Club (Amy Tan), Harry Potter (of course!), The Great Gatsby.. I could really go on for a long time.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I play piano, and love to perform! One of the best moments of my life was getting to play with an orchestra.

There's always money in the banana stand. (Arrested Development, anyone?)

I'm not a terrific cook, but I love to feed people! My latest obsession are Chinese dumplings - I think I have perfected my recipe at last!

I've also played the piano since I was 7, so I can play some mean Chopin/Mozart/Beethoven/Bach. I have to admit I am pretty pro at sight-reading, so if you have a piano, we are in business.
