About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Viajar en America del Sur y conocer mucha gente, lugares, costumbres y musica tipica

ABOUT ME

Some of my friends would describe me as a really friendly person, who always thinks positive and expects the best in another person. Others would just tell that I am a little bit naive.
I am open minded, but I am not the person who is telling her whole lifestory a stranger. I normally need some time to warm up and in general other persons are talking to me first, before I would start a conversation. But I am working on doing the first step :)

PHILOSOPHY

Use your opportunities and don't think too much! Things will happen and you have to live with the consequences: good or bad, so think positive! It always can be worse :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I just started by couchsurfing experience with a good friend of mine (Tamara) from Germany. We used her account, because mine was not fully completed.

Also I would love to be a host again, but for that I have to find a spacious flat when I am back in Germany. I really like to show my city and the nice places which are not so crowed by tourists and have their special charme.

Up to than I am searching for couch in South America, especially in Bolivia, Paraguay and Uruguay, because these are the next countries I am travelling to.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had so many nice experiences, for example in Lima, Arequipa and Santiago de Chile, that I would love to use the opportunity of couchsurfing more often.
In Lima we stayed with a really nice girl, Sonia, and her family. Even her 70 year old aunt showed us the city and we met her and her daughter in Cuszo again.
In Arequipa our couchsurfer Paul had also a really welcoming family and Emiliano in Santiago de Chile showed us his city and although his family's house in the Mountains close to Santiago, where I normally would not have gone.

All in all I met a lot of interesting people with interesting lifestories and I definatly would like to meet more of such nice, welcoming and interested people

Interests

I like travelling to see different ways of living.
But I also like to be at home with my friends. So a mixture, e.g. a long travel time every 2-3 years suits me well.
I like reading, I love going to concerts and festivals, hanging out and talking to my friends. I also love to go out and dance the night away :)
When I am at home I really love doing almost all kinds of sports, especially jogging and going to the gym.

Music, Movies, and Books

MUSIC:
Due to my travel through South America my taste of music is a little bit influenced... e.g. by:
- La Vela Puerca
- Pantheon Rococo
- Calle 13
- Ska-P

Normally I really like Alternative Music, BritPop and Ska and some German singer-songwriters:
- Kasabian
- Kakkmaddafakka
- Sugarplum Fairy
- Razorlight
- Oli Schulz
- Madsen

But I also like Electronic Music and love to go to festivals with differnent styles of music

MOVIES:
I am a little bit obsessed with tv series. If I start with one episode I will see all of them. When I am back in Germany I am looking forward to start with "The Following". Up to now I really like:
- Entourage
- Flight of the Conchords
- How I met your mother
- Big Bang Theory
and many more

I used to work in a Cinema and saw all kind of films. I prefer more the arty ones than the big blogbusters, especially british, french and spanish movies. I I really love old films like "Casablanca" and "Gone with the wind".
I cannot see Horror-Movies anymore, because I am too scared and my heart is beating too fast... but thrillers are still ok ;)

BOOKS:
I really like to read all kinds of books and I am reading a lot. Currently I am reading and loving it:
- Games of Thrones
- El prisonero del cielo

In general I like historic novels, a little bit of fantasy. During my travels I always try to read a country specific book. One of my forever favourite books is "War and Peace" from Tolstoi

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- Salkantay Track in Peru with the final arriving at Machu Pichu
- Climbing El Misti (5822 m) as my first mountain
- Trekking and Camping in the Nationalparque "Torres del Paine" in Patagonia
