CURRENT MISSION

I recently returned to Australia after living and working in the Middle East as a Writer/Journalist in Jordan for two years. Before that I was on an extended world adventure. Now I have a research job that involves travelling out to different sites in Australia and interviewing people.

ABOUT ME

I want to learn about the world and the people in it from more than just books. In 2013 I quit my job in Australia to go on an extended world adventure to Europe and the Middle East. Along the way I was offered a job in Jordan, so after my travels I went back. But now I'm back home in Melbourne.

At university I studied international relations and I'm very interested in culture, conflict and history. I also love getting to know people from different backgrounds. I've travelled quite a bit in India (have studied there and taught English) and love the adventures that come with experiencing another country.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

While I was on my extended world adventure I met a couple of people through Couchsurfers who generously hosted me. Now that I'm back home I'm happy to meet up with surfers visiting my city (I'm currently living with my uncle though so can't host people in his house at the moment).

兴趣

I love art, reading, writing, analysing the world, and exploring in the outdoors. Few things beat climbing a mountain or a tree. I also love salsa dancing and when I was in Amman I played soccer and loved that too.

Books are one of my favourite things in life. I'm a big Tolkien fan, Orwell, CS Lewis, Jane Austen, and I love true stories set in a time or place that is new to me.

I enjoy listening to music but what type really can vary according to my mood. Anything from folk, indie, rock, to latin.

Movies are also great. Again there are many types I love.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

When I finished high school I left my small country town and went to India to teach English in a Tibetan Buddhist nunnery in the foothills of the Himalayas in India. I returned to study at Delhi University for a semester and have visited a number of times since. In India every day is an adventure, and that is why I love it.
