About Me

My age doesn't define me. I love spending time with folks of all ages.

I love conversations about life and engage in deep intimate conversation very naturally.

I teach people to reframe perspective to change their lives through soul coaching, my empathic awareness and often employ tools like Hypnotherapy.

I have 4 kids: a daughter 23, a son 22 and 9-year-old twin sons. All of them are creative and free spirited! My best life teachers!

I have run many businesses: An Italian bakery and restaurant, a small organic farm, a successful yoga studio and now my counselling practice.

I love to travel and don't often like to be a tourist. I would rather be with locals and experience life on the ground than to visit famous sites. I often go to famous sites too but I take my time. I get caught up in experiencing so I often don't take pictures.

I have a podcast called Truth Be Told...it is personal, spiritual and although it deals with difficult subjects, it is filled with light. Sometimes I feature people I know who are singers or writers,,,I like to intersperse creativity in it. I am proud of this podcast as I learned how to do it by trial and error and produce every aspect of it.

I am an environmental steward. I am involved in a local group called Save Our Water that takes on big bottled water companies through legislative means and education. I grow my own food as much as possible and eat organic and local, supporting my local farmers market. I do revolutionary things like wear slippers and hang dry my clothes. I walk or bike whenever possible. I don't use chemicals in my garden or my body.

I am a non smoker and very rarely drink alcohol. I react like a hummingbird to stimulants of most kinds so I enjoy life without them :D

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet new, interesting people!
I love traveling alone so I can be free to take new directions or choices, but I don't want to be alone throughout my journeys. I enjoy connecting with people to eat, go dancing or learn about the places I visit and love that I have connections all over the world as a result.
I love sharing and trade economy generally. I've traded my professional coaching and hypnosis services and have hosted wwoofers on my former farm from all over the world.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm a bit of a chameleon owing to the fact that many people have come through my home and my own kids have exposed me to lots of music, books, and movies to broaden my personal repertoire. I used to have a massive personal library but am now down to professional books and a shelf of recent reads which includes: Unsheltered by Barbara Kingsolver, Do Not Say We Have Nothing by Madeliene Thiene, The Book of Negroes by Lawrence Hill, A Spark of Light by Jodi Piccoult and books like Three Cups of Tea by Greg Mortenson and Beyond Love by Dominique La Pierre...I guess those are all pretty serious subject matter!

Musically, I am attracted to rhythm- anything from world music and ska to top 40...if it has a cool beat, I tend to like it. I don't love the lyrics of a lot of songs so I really like to collect music from other cultures so I don't necessarily have to follow what they are actually saying :)... I love to dance too.

Movies similarly range from binging on Marvel or Disney movies with my 9-year-old twins to historical pieces, spy movies or films with some sort of twist whether it is real world mystery or metaphysical and I love good, intellectually humourous movies (not so big on crass humour). My favourite movie could still be Moonstruck because all the characters are so en pointe!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I walked the Camino de Santiago in 27 days which shocked me because I didn't rush...it just felt really good to walk and talk with people so some days I did 50 km and loved every minute!

I unintentionally hitchhiked past the border at the dead sea in Jordan and received a military escort to go swimming! The soldiers asked us (my friend and I) many questions about life in Canada and even had a Gerry Can of fresh water to rinse off the salt! That doesn't happen when you book through a big company!!!

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to teach people how to shift their perspectives and overcome difficult things that block them from moving forward. Our powerful minds are amazingly plastic and maleable!

I love great conversations.

I am naturally introverted but have an extrovert side that I want to develop with help from world wide friends :)
