Originally NYC born and bred, but I've lived in California so long that San Diego "winters" seem cold to me. Currently in grad school full time, plus mom of two kids (7 and 10).

All three of us lean heavily towards active and outdoors. Things that get the stoke up: climbing, climbing, climbing. Also hiking/camping, skiing, watersports, etc. It's always better if you can do it without a motor.

Love to travel (these days with kids) and meet new people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on here mostly to host. We have an extra bedroom, and my kids and I love meeting new people. Couchsurfing seems like a great way for all of us to learn about other people, places, cultures, and all sorts of things.

In my previous incarnation, I was involved in helping people with their border/immigration and criminal justice-related problems. I'm very proud of whatever positive effect, great or small, my work may have had.
