About Me
ABOUT ME
1. Chronic case of fernweh, where anywhere other than home is preferable. And I get tired of living in one place for too long.
2. While I can rough it out at the best of times, I still prefer creature comforts over no showers for days on end. Yes, I'm a wimp that way.
3. Verbose/deadpan/unintentionally funny.
4. I talk about zombies as if they're real. I know they're not. Yet.
PHILOSOPHY
Try a thing you haven't done three times. Once, to get over the fear of doing it. Twice, to learn how to do it. And a third time, to figure out whether you like it or not.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Nada. Joined in March 2013 but did nothing about the account. Traditionally more an AirBnB girl but we'll see how this goes. The first person I host or surf with is going to make or break this experience. No pressure. Jokes.
Jan 2014 update: So the above description does not quite apply anymore. I levelled up, I think I can call myself an 'experienced' host now.
Interests
I'm a PhD student. I like the idea of science and discovery, the actual execution of it, I'm not too much of a fan of. Shhh.
I live for the days and weeks when I'm in some foreign land. I like the feeling of walking down the streets and avenues and not necessarily understanding the language. Unfortunately, a PhD stipend can only allow you to travel that many times a year (read: once) so joining CS and possibly hosting someone is my way of seeing the world through other humans.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
1. Sky diving off the coast of Sydney. Semi-impulsive decision but oh my god, the adrenaline high stays with you for days. Will definitely do that again if I get the chance. That, or bungee jump off the Victoria Bridge in Africa.
2. Rome. I'm a sucker for ancient architecture and Rome was basically an open-air museum.
Teach, Learn, Share
I will love it if you can teach me to cook a dish from wherever you come from, to add to my very limited repertoire. Or you can just charm me with your sparkling personality. In return, I can bore you with science and research or read your future with Tarot cards. Half jokes. I'll be glad to show you around the city or share tips on where to go and what to do while you're here.
