About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Wild the tame!

ABOUT ME

Born and raised on the east coast rural beaches of the U.S. about an hour's drive from New York City or Philadelphia. Being this close to two major cities in the USA offered a diverse array of adventures during my youth. Fun, intelligent people and unusual experiences is what life has been all about.
I hit the open road to explore the States, all the while, heading for California where I eventually discovered San Francisco, Santa Cruz and the incredible Monterey Bay, Big Sur, Lake Tahoe, the Sierra Mountains, the North Coast, Highway 1... WOW!
Worked aboard a Norwegian cruise ship for a while as a waiter traveling around the globe to a variety of exotic ports. This was an amazing experience that introduced me to world travel.
I've been lucky enough to have been a ski bum for a few years in the Lake Tahoe region with frequent jaunts off to Utah (for the powder).
Explored the archipelago of Indonesia for several years... more on that when we meet in person.
Now living in rural Southern Humboldt County enjoying an "alternative" lifestyle and always looking to do some more traveling... to travel is to grow, to grow is to travel!
Spontaneity is an important aspect to human survival on planet earth. I've got an open mind... I live pretty simply... try not to consume too many resources. Every time we spend money, we are voting. Stay away from WalMart and the like. Let's hike into the wilderness to see what we may find out about the wonder's of nature.

PHILOSOPHY

Age is an attitude... consume less, enjoy life more. The three most important lessons: Compassion, Forgiveness, and Love.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've got space... both physically and metaphorically. I publish a Travel Guide and Map of the world famous, "Avenue of the Giants", a 31 mile drive through ancient redwood groves.
I know a lot of the secret swimming holes and points of interest in my local area. Often times, I've got a vacant loft (or two) with clean bedding and a couch or at the very least a cozy campsite beside the river. Come stay at the chateau and experience the SoHum lifestyle.
I seek out interesting people places and paradigms.

Busco gente, lugares y paradigmas interesantes.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've been couch surfing (unofficially) for a good many years now. I've crashed cars and I've crashed parties... but most of all, I enjoy crashing couches. Couches have always been a fun meeting and resting place for me. A lot can be accomplished aboard a poofy couch. Most of the world's problems have been solved, or will be solved (and created) on a couch. There are as many different couches as there are people... I enjoy getting to know both!
-------------------------------------------------------

Interests

Organic gardening, swimming, hiking, wildlife, skiing, biking', yoga, visual and audible AND edible art... nothing beats the sounds and sights of nature. Humans are an interesting bunch.
