Me and my wife are interested in learning the basics of foreign languages so that we can travel around Europe with my project "The Dark Star Quest"

ABOUT ME

I worked as a cameraman in the film industry, later as an entrepreneur, currently I am retired. I live already for twenty years in a farmhouse in South Bohemia, from time to time I create my own films, and also take care of work around the house and in the garden. At the moment I am starting to bring to life my multimedia project, after years of preparations. It is an expedition that will take several years and is going to follow the route of an important historical expedition. During this project there will be created documentary films, photographs, numerous short movies for the social media and travel books from around Europe.

NOTE: I am a beginner in English - the content of this profile was created thanks to the help of a friend.

PHILOSOPHY

I don´t like violence and I believe that besides natural and cosmic laws there exist also higher laws of justice, such as the law of Karma, so I am grateful for everything that I encounter. I like to know the unknown.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I would like to primarily be hosting, as me and my wife would like to learn foreign languages in order to be able to communicate during our future travels.

Besides making films and taking photographs I enjoy growing flowers and fruit, working with wood and repairing old machines and tools. I am interested in art, mysticism, esotericism and eastern philosophies.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like classical and meditation music. I like bands such as Beatles or E.L.O. I love the sound of ocean waves.
I like good quality non-violent movies.
Lately I read mostly materials connected to the realization of my project "The Dark Star Quest", but I used to like reading books such as Karel Schulz´s "Stone and Pain" (about the life of Michelangelo Buonarotti), Lion Feuchtwanger´s "Goya", Jack London´s "The Star Rover", books by Paul Brunton etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Working in the film industry and getting to know amazing people in all kinds of places.
The last wonderful place I´ve visited was le Mont-Saint-Michel in 2013.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can create films, take photographs, write a bit, I am handy and I try to be good at work around the farmhouse and in the garden.
I´d like to learn as much as I can, but most of all I want to learn to communicate in foreign languages, so that I am able to share my experience and ideas with other people during my travels.
