ABOUT ME

When I signed up to CS in 2010 I was a travel newbie, excited to go new places and meet new people. Now six years later I'm a confirmed travel junkie and every bit as excited for new places, new adventures and new friends!

I love CS, I've had the most amazing experiences and plan to do much more!

Last year I returned to Mulbring, the town where I grew up to be nearer to my family, although I still bounce off to travel a lot! I'm really enjoying living in country Australia again with my cat, my horses and all the good things in life - wine/food/friends/hiking/beer/adventure/music/beach/cheese!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I occupy strangers' couches, spare beds and floors across the globe.

I also get randomly invited to parties by people I don't know! That's fun! Feel free to invite me if you think your party could use one more bawdy, drunken Australian.
I am now living in Mulbring NSW the house I grew up in. It's about halfway between Newcastle (beach/fun/cocktails/food) and the Hunter Valley vineyards (wine/food/adventure). Come and stay with me!

Interests

I love outdoorsy things - one of the reasons I study biology and conservation. I most recently studied Antarctic Science at the University of Tasmania, which will hopefully one day allow me to realise my only career aspiration - to be paid to go to Antarctica!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent January 2012 on a desert island off the Pacific coast of Baja California, Mexico. It's only accessible by boat (or in our case kayak), there are no other people out there, bar a few passing fishermen and even on the coast there are no visible signs of humans, except for an unmanned lighthouse in the distance. There's a sea lion colony on the island, which smells a bit but is good entertainment. Dolphins often came past very close to our camp and occasionally would be feeding right next to our table on the beach during dinner. There's no freshwater supply on the island so the coyotes would come in, within about 5m, to lick the dew off our kayaks, which was another good form of dinner entertainment. When it was all over I had a new found appreciation for hot showers and the tacos in Loreto and La Paz totally count as their own "awestruck moment"!
