This is my first attempt at using CouchSurfing after about 2 years of solid traveling and wanted to give it a go on this upcoming trip to Portugal.

In my "normal" life, I live in Los Angeles, California, USA designing things- mostly shoes, which gave me many beautiful and also trying experiences traveling the world for shopping/trend hunting/ and working with the factories for development. It's amazing and I'm extremely fortunate that that's how I've made my living for the last 10 years.

I was last splitting my time half living in London and Los Angeles until about 2 years ago when I started this little journey that I've been on after a big break up and started the cliched "eat pray love" experience. Not to knock it because it's a damn good book with so many uncanny coincidences and yes- traveling is the best thing to do to regain yourself after heartbreak.

Flash forward 2 years and here I am. I'm still trying to find the purpose of life, wandering the world, mostly looking for baby waves to surf- and now making an attempt at looking for a couch or spare bed to surf.

I'm clean, respectful, don't smoke :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I joined about two years ago when I started a life changing two year and counting travel sabbatical from my life after a big break up and have actually yet to have used it. I'm heading to Portugal soon and wanted to give this a try, I normally research and research and research a country and visit checklists of sites alone and I frankly would like to try to have a more organic experience with locals who live in the area and heard that CS could give an opportunity to have that.
