About Me
Some things you can possibly like to know about me: I'm an easy going person who loves to go out and make new friends. I'm very patient and open-minded - I guess that is one of the reasons why I'm a teacher. My favorite spots for leisure are cafes and outdoor places such as parks and lakes, and of course a good waterfall if the place where I am allows me to get to it. Sometimes I like to go to nightclubs, but not very often - I think it depends on the group of friends and occasion. I love watching movies and series, and I love food. Going out to different restaurants is something that I really enjoy, especially if I have the opportunity of trying something new. I love the Summer, and I love outdoor activities, even if they consist only in walking around a beautiful street in the city.
About my life: I grew up in a medium-sized city in Brazil, and when I turned 19 years old I moved from my parents house to a bigger city to study at University. For 5 years I lived in different houses and I had the opportunity to live with other people and also live by myself. This experience was awesome because it made me grow a lot as a person and it also allowed me to realize some things that I didn't know about myself. I studied Social Sciences and I really love it, but I've always had another passion which is languages, and in the end I turned up to be an English teacher - which I really love, because I really enjoy the interaction I can create with students, no matter how old they are.
What trips represent to me: I'm a travel lover, so when I turned 24 years old I got my degree from the University and decided it was time to broaden my horizons, visit new places, meet new people and learn about other cultures. That is why I took up an internship and moved to Samara, a big city in Russia. I've been loving the experience since then, and I hope I will still travel to many other countries in this enourmous world we live in!
Other information you might want to know if our paths come across: I'm very responsible, tidy and organised, I like to keep things where they are found easily and in a way that makes everything faster. But I'm not obsessed about it either, and I don't mind sharing housework at all. I love pets, I don't own one now because I live with a host, but I don't have any problems with any kind of animals - my mother has 4 cats and I grew up with a lot of dogs when I was a child, so pets have been a big part of my life since I was little. I can cook - it's not amazing but it's good! I love a good chat at any moment, especially if we can have it over a good meal and/or a good glass of wine. I love talking about pretty much everything, and I love learning different cultures and languages. If we meet I'll be glad to learn from you, and also teach you everything I can!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I want to travel around the world and I realized that, besides helping to cut expenses, couchsurfing also gives us the opportunity to meet local people who can give us a deeper view of the place we are visiting. For me this is really important because passing by a beautiful place requires much more than just taking some beautiful pictures - I really want to understand and learn a little bit about every place I go. Not to mention the fact that you make a new friend in another country, and this is really awesome in many aspects - we can exchange culture, knowledge, languages ( nothing is better than a local to help me practice or learn a new language!!), and at the same time, real friendship!
Interests
Making new friends from all over the world and learning better about the history from the place I'm visiting. Taking many good pictures to remember all good moments and learning something new from each experience. Sharing unforgettable moments with unforgettable people. Trying local cuisine is also something really appealing.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: My favorite kind of music will always depend on my mood. That's why sometimes I can spend weeks listening to the same band, or same music style - it is all about how I feel. I love brazilian music - the classics, like Chico Buarque, Toquinho, Caetano Veloso - the most popular - like Natiruts, Zeca Baleiro, Nação Zumbi, Titãs - and also the new ones - like Criolo. I also like English songs - from Elvis Presley and The Beatles, passing by The Doors, Janis Joplin and Pink Floyd - till it gets to the 'new' ones - First Aid Kit, SOJA, Paramore, Foo Fighters. I like Russian songs also, I am still getting to know some of them, I enjoy some french singers (Edith Piaf is the best!), and some arabic singers as well - I love Nancy Agram when I'm energetic. Anyway, I like a lot of things and if I stayed here wrtiting everything I like to listen to it would take all day!
Movies: I love movies, all kind of movies - but I really love Suspense, despite the fact that nowadays it's a little hard to find a good one. I also love the silly ones like chick flick when I'm in the mood, drama, investigation, but mostly intelligent movies, such as Inseption and The Island. My favorite movies always have Leonardo DiCaprio - which is funny because he is far away of being my favorite actor, but he has only good movies so in the end he is the one that I most watch in the big screen. But I also like movies that are not "Hollywood", such as The Wave, Good Bye Lenin, and documentaries like Bowling in Columbine. I also love series and my favorite one is Friends - I know all the episodes by heart I guess - it really helped me with my English learning and, somehow, in my life experiences too.
Books: I like reading every kind of books, since Politics till Sci-Fi. My favorite book as child/teenager was The Little Prince - I read it three times. My favorite brazilian book is Dom Casmurro, by Machado de Assis - I read it twice and maybe there will be a third time, I'm never tired of Capitu and her misterious eyes. I also love classic books such as O Ateneu, O Primo Basílio and O Retrato de Dorian Gray - all classics that we study when we are in High School. I was the only one in class that read all the books, even the ones the teacher didn't ask us to. Favorite non-brazilian book is Ensaio Sobre a Cegueira - José Saramago (Portuguese writer, really amazing!). My book choice depends on my mood, just as music. But I read better when it's not obligation. At University I always wanted to read the books that were in the "optional" list. Honestly I kind of lost the habit of reading after I finished University, so now I'm trying to get it back. Before moving to Russia I read Pride and Prejudice - Jane Austin and I also read some Russian authors and it was pretty amazing - I've read Crime and Punishment - Dostoyevsk and Ana Karenina - Tolstoy. Right now I'm reading books related to language studying - the current one is a book about how to write in arabic alphabet.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Giving up my job in Brazil, saying good bye to my friends and family and coming to live in Russia without knowing how would my life be in here was for sure the most amazing thing I had done in my life!!!
Teach, Learn, Share
I want to teach Portuguese, my native language, to whoever is interested in it, and I can help anyone with English as well. I can teach anyone how to make incredible tasty and easy brazilian dessert called 'brigadeiro' and for those who are interested I can also teach how to make the wonderful and really tasty 'pão de queijo mineiro'. I can teach a little bit of what it is to be brazilian - manners, habits, thoughts, and of course 'samba'! And to any brazilian that comes across (I hope there will be a lot) I can teach everything that my journey abroad has taught me till now.
I want to learn the most number of languages I can. I also want to learn history and traditions. I want to learn how people from different nationalities feel, and also how they think. I want to learn what we have in common and what we have that is different. I want to learn about your cuisine and also about your individual stories.
I want to share culture, because for me each time I learn something new it makes me change and grow up as a person. I want to share meals over good conversations about anything and everything, and I want to share amazing pictures that will record all of these moments forever. What is more, I want to share true friendships that will last forever.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share with hosts anything they want to know about my country - Brazil. Brazil is a big and amazing country, with very curious traditions and habits, I can share all of this and of course teach my host a little bit Portuguese. I can share my traditions, my culture and my country history. I can share some ideas about language learning - books, websites, games and etc. Also, I can share what I have learned in Russia - culture, language - and any other experience regarding trips I have done. Last, but not least, I can share my friendship and also be a host in the future, if my host decides going to Brazil later.
