About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Getting out of my comfort zone :-) and exploring New Zealand

ABOUT ME

everyone can make his own opinion... you have to get to know me :-)

I am generally a calm person and a very romantic soul.

I am not religious but have my own beliefs in certain things around us.

I try to live a simple life, spend money for experiences rather than things, I don´t like materialism and consumerist way of life; hate to see food wasting, ... and I could go on with the list for much longer...

My family always comes first!

PHILOSOPHY

Everything that happens in our life happens for a reason.

What doesn´t kill you makes you stronger.

Learn from your mistakes. (I find this one damn hard!)

Trying to be always positive and find the good side in everything. (it is still challenging but I am getting there!)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING & COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am a person who tends to move a lot from place to place, so it is usually a bit difficult for me to host. However, every time I manage to create my small space called home, in any country I currently live in, I love sharing it with travelers. During my university studies I found many opportunities to spend several semesters studying and living abroad (Slovenia, Spain, USA), and when I finished the university, I left to South Korea to work as nanny, after which I moved to Cyprus where I was working as kindergarten teacher for 2 years!

I have hosted in Brno and Nicosia... and surfed in so many wonderful places such as Spain, Greece, South Korea, Japan, Israel, Bulgaria, Mexico,...
I simply love it!
... isn´t it just exciting to wake up knowing there is a person from China sleeping on your sofa? Or getting up earlier just to have time to prepare your traditional breakfast for your Romanian couchsurfer? Or finally visiting hammam in your city with your cs guest when she suggests it?

And how about tasting typical Japanese breakfast prepared by your host in Kyoto,... drinking Czech beer in a pub in Thessaloniki with your Greek host, ...riding motorcycle on the coast of Spain with your Spanish host, ...running barefoot in the middle of the night in waves on the beach in Burgas with your Bulgarian host... and so much more...

And I mustn´t forget to mention the amount of travel stories that my hosts/guests shared with me, the laughs we had together, the presents I have received/given, the number of beers we have drunk, and so on.

I really fell in love with couchsurfing about 7 years ago when I moved to Malaga and saw how the community there worked. The people there became sort of a family for me. The great thing in CS is that there is such a diversity of people you meet; some of them you get to know better and you might became real friends, some of them just travel and stop by for short time, but they might leave a strong impression as well. Some of my friends there taught me what couchsurfing really is about.
I have made many great friends through couchsurfing over the years, as well.

Interests

I love nature. Forests, sea, meadows, lakes, mountains. Watching animals in their natural environment. I was raised in a countryside; with my parents - nature lovers - we used to spend our weekends and holidays in forest huts or in tents... I used to go with my dad early in the mornings/late at nights to sit and watch dear, foxes, moufflons and other wonderful creatures...
I really enjoy hiking mountains.
I love camping and sleeping under the stars! Campfire, guitar, singing, stargazing... I was 5 when I first slept under the stars!
I enjoy getting up early just to see the sunrise!
Any kind of adventure. I should challenge myself more!
DANCING - Salsa, Bachata, Merengue, New Style Hustle. Love dancing, so basically, if there is music, I dance!
Downhill skiing, Kick-biking, cycling
Juggling
Languages (learning languages helps me get closer to people all over the world and that´s one of the reasons I love it). My favourite is Spanish and Polish.
Travelling to foreign countries and LIVING there for some time.
Snorkeling

Music, Movies, and Books

Latino, Rock, Heavy metal, Power metal, Folk metal, but also ska, pop; and I really enjoy listening to traditional music of many different countries. Basically, I like any music that makes me move, dance, jump, head bang, sing or think :)
I watch loads of movies.
I wish I had more time to read books, or better said - I wish I found more time for it. I don´t read as much as I would like to. The last great books I read and enjoyed them extremely were Shantaram and books by Haruki Murakami.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I really aim to find The Amazing in everything I do. Life is so much nicer then! But to point out the MOST amazing out of the amazing, I have to mention these:

Free fall during skydiving.
Flying over the Alps.
Standing on the edge of the Grand Canyon.
Diving in Cozumel, Mexico.
Witnessing sea turtles laying their eggs on a beach in Cyprus; helping baby turtles get in the sea and swimming with sea turtles in Mexico.
Full moon night skinny dipping, Golden Beach, Cyprus!
The Death road on a mountain bike - Bolivia.
Hiked to Machu Picchu.

All this travelling and moving to different countries to study/work or for whatever other reason that I did seems pretty amazing to me now, when I look back. I definitely want to continue with this way of life.

Teach, Learn, Share

TEACH:
I am Czech Language and Art teacher! How about that?! :-)
I would love to teach you some Czech, don´t let people put you off by telling you Czech is impossible to learn!
... I am exaggerating, of course... but the truth is, my language is difficult and can be challenging but herein lies it´s beauty!
Take the longest Czech word, for example: "Nejneobhospodařovávatelnějšího".
We also like words with no vowels: vlk, krk, zmrzl, scvrnkl, prst... :-)

I can also teach how to ski! I am a ski instructor. Skiing is my passion although I haven´t devoted it much time over the past 2 years as I was living in a country where snow is something you see very rarely :-).

LEARN:
Salsa and other latin dances - that has been my long-term goal
Surfing (also long-term)
