Overview
About Me
Young adult man. Have traveled and lived abroad from 2013 to 2020. Recently I have gotten more calm in travelling, and moved from big trips to foreign places to small, but just as beautiful trips in my direct surroundings.
I'm an introverted, shy, quiet person. I do appreciate and need social contact though. Have been meditating and been on the spiritual path and the path of self-development for some time now. Though I grew up in a big city, I slowly learn to appreciate nature, a simple lifestyle and the small pleasures of life.
In my 32 years I have been in various situations and had bunch of experiences, and it all somehow influences me. And as much as I go for some more stability in my life, I still find myself "drifting" into something new.
Fun fact: my last name means "chickens" in the dialect of my home region, and there's a famous band in this region with the same name. They've even had a #1 hit in Germany... I'm not kidding you!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Originally joined CS when I had no accomodation during a voluntary project in Brazil. I was staying in hostels, and was hoping I could save money by staying with a CS host.
Rejoined CS after I attended Tomislav Perko's lecture "How to travel the world with almost no money" (https://youtu.be/R7vmHGAshi8).
Since then, CS has enabled me fun meetings with people in Reykjavík, Dublin, Istanbul, Trieste, Pula and Cologne.
Currently I have a big flat available, and I feel it's my duty to share it with those who want or need it. Also I'm open to share with travelers a more local experience of Cologne off the "beaten path" away from its main attractions in the city center.
Of course, I sometimes have a busy schedule, with work, family and my own appointments. I may or may not be able to hang out with you, but we can figure out a way there.
Travelling has given me a lot, and if I can help you in that, I love to do so.
Interests
These days I do meditation morning and evening and journaling as much as possible in a hectic schedule. The spiritual path has become very important to me over the years.
However, I have some hobbies that I practice every now and then, e.g. (travel) photography, bycicling, reading, exploring, passively being on the computer, going to art and photography museums, taking self-development seminars, being with horses.
Also love trips out with the bike and/or public transport. Also appreciate simple meetings with people for socializing.

Music, Movies, and Books
The books of the enlightened Indian guru Paramahansa Yogananda, particularly his "Autobiography of a Yogi", hugely influence me.
Also self-development books are dear to me, e.g. "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill or "Secrets of the Millionaire Mind" by T. Harv Eker.
Musically I listen to spiritual music, kirtans, mantras; occassionally I listen to (Western) classical music. I don't really listen to popular music anymore, but back then progressive and classic rock were mine, e.g. Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Yes, and the like.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Preparing for and running an ultramarathon of 50 km!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I live close to a lively, colourful and multicultural area that I can introduce you to.
There's for example a store saving good food from being thrown into the garbage, that saves these items and offers them on a "pay what you like" scheme.
