About Me
I work as a freelancer designing games on the topics of algorithms, big data, human rights as well as social games on insecurities and neurotransmitters with kick-ass publisher team of Quality Beast. Next to that I teach at art academies and do freelance work as a graphic designer.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've had the most outstanding travel experiences staying with couchsurfers, whom I often became friends with and came to visit me in Amsterdam. I am not fond of the anonymous atmosphere of hostels and hotels.
Music, Movies, and Books
I have stacks of books borrowed from friends, all nibbled here and there, I always fail in finishing. but I've collected lots of lovely bits. One of my fav's are Narziss and Goldmund by Hermann Hesse, Maybe They Knew Everything by Toon Tellegen, Rules of Utopia by David Graber, and stuffs from Rilke and Walter Benjamin.
I have a subscription to concerts in Amsterdam, love the Dutch theatre and am at my happiest when listening to my friends making music. Absolute favourite at the moment is Mark McGuire.
Cinematic fav's is anything from Jim Jarmusch like Coffee and Cigarettes, Night on Earth and Wes Anderson's The Life Aquatic, and surrealist movies like 'Tiere'.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
meeting jakub in czech republic, who started out building a tree house when he was 11 on his parents ground, now he's 33 and it still keeps growing. it has 11 floors and is 17 metres high. we slept on the highest floor in between the rustling leaves.
What I Can Share with Hosts
