I am a positive and relaxed guy from Finland, the land of freezing winters, burning sauna and midnight sun. I love meeting people, having meaningful conversations and sharing stories.

I have travelled a bunch, tutored international students at my uni and lived abroad multiple times: studying in Austria and working in France. I am very accustomed to meeting new people and tend to get well along with everyone. I believe that everybody is exciting and that we can all find something in common, if we just open up!

I generally approach life with a positive and humorous attitude and plan to keep laughing at everything until the grave. Can't wait to share some laughs with you!

Cultures, languages and people fascinate me. And food. Always the food.

I love hearing and sharing stories. Stories of real life, of mythologies and anything in between. For me this is the most exciting way to try and understand life in a country.

I tend to carry around small notebooks that are filled with short stories written by me and the people I meet. You are very welcome to add your own in your language of choice, should you feel like it.

I am always looking for new music but here are a few of my all-time favourite bands:

I love dystopian movies and pretty much everything by Hayao Miyazaki:

Blade Runner, The Road, Princess Mononoke.

Lately my favourite books have been mostly sci-fi:

Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep, Ubik, Butcher's Crossing.

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

Sleeping the night in a self-built snow shelter in Northern Finland in December. It was around -30 Celsius outside and I was alone in the middle of the dark forest. Or attempting to sleep I suppose, since I was expecting a wandering reindeer or moose to stumble through the roof at any moment.

Lehren, lernen, teilen

I have focused my studies on low-carbon (renewables, nuclear) energy production and climate science and I'm currently working in climate research. I am always ready and happy to share my knowledge and discuss questions related to these topics and climate change in general. And just to mention, I always find conversations with people of opposing views the most interesting ones and never want to force my opinions on anyone!

I love to learn about languages and dialects and just hear stories of local life. Would be great to cook together, since I love cooking.
