About Me
My name is Jannika,
It's so weird writing this list of my own positive character traits, like being
curious, spontaneous, open minded or tolerant, like I suppose everybody on couchsurfing is.
So I'm just gonna try to write down things I like, hoping they're gonna tell more about me ...
~hitchhiking (It's the best way to get around within Germany, not only cause it's cheap, but cause you're meeting people you had never gotten in contact with, like truck drivers, a kebab delivery man, retirees talking about their lifestories etc)
~planing trips (doesn't matter wheater I'm gonna have time to travel or not, there is always a journey I'm planning, reading travel reports, researching about a country, a travelling route, places I wanna see. At the moment it's Ethiopia, hope I'm going there at some point :) )
~secondhand-clothes (the best shops are the ones, where you pay per kilo)
~baking (but never with a receipt)
~sleeping in hammocks
~writing to do lists and crossing points out
~theme partys (always a great chance to buy odd clothes you secretly love, but would never wear in everyday life)
~teaching mathmatics
~theatre, one my favourite things to do in the world! Acting, directing, watching.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love listening to people's stories, getting inspired , open up my horizont.
My dream is to work at a hostel for some time, cause for me that's one of the best parts of travelling: just sitting there listening to interesting stories from interesting people, getting to know life-concepts being diffrent from my own.
Interests
I study psychology, which is the most interesting subject I could imagine. I can't wait being a therapist, that's why I already work at a crisis line. Helping people solving their problems by just talking to them, is one of the most amazing feelings I ever had.
I love theatre! Not only watching it, but beeing on stage myself. At the moment I'm co-directing a play with a group of teenagers, which I spend a lot more time with, than with doing my uni-stuff.
I enjoy cooking. My favourites are Sushi and Indian food, but I always like to try something new. And I don't like eating alone, so I invite people for dinner as often as possible.
I love doing things I haven't done before, I like dancing, photography, train rides, and watching people, And of course I love travelling.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Working with kids! Is there anything more fulfilling than children's laughter?
Teach, Learn, Share
I'd love to learn Dutch and Suaheli...
...and yoga or meditating in general, or ayurveda cooking, or surfing, or making honey, or knitting. There a thousand things to learn and I'm curious about so many of them...
