Hello, My name is Jannis. I am from Germany. During my Bachelor and Master Degree I have lived abroad for working and studying quite a bit. I used that time to travel as much as I could and in general I like to travel and get to know other countries and their cultures. I am open to new things as I find it exciting to learn and get to know other countries and their people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

On my 7 weeks trip through Mexico I stayed the majority of my time with CouchSurfers and it was truly an amazing experience. So many warm-hearted and amazing people with such diverse views of the world and stories to tell. It just feels good to be part of this community.

Interests

As I said, I very much like to travel and get to know other countries. Furthermore, I love music, especially electronic music, but honestly I listen to music across all genres, rock, rap, metal, pop, country, trance, house, reggae etc. I am currently also learning to DJ a little, which is fun. I also have a motorcycle which I very much like riding around with. I read a lot of news, and I am very interested in politics and the economy. :)

One amazing thing? Bungee jumping. Undescribable feeling (for me even better than sky diving).
Another: Cave of Swallows: Thousands of thousands of swallows leaving a huge sink hole in the morning. :)

Teach, Learn, Share

During the summer in 2015 I taught English in various schools and an orphanage in the South-Eastern part of China. It was via a social project from AIESEC and we were over 60 teachers from over 20 countries. Indescribable experience :)
