Hi!
I`m Jana and I am very exited to come this October to Addis Ababa to spend half a year there.
I am a medical student in my eights semester and I will be writing my doctoral thesis about the cancer registry in Ethiopia. This will be some kind of very statistical and theoretical work so I would be very glad, to get to know some people beside my work to spend some time with and hang around together.
I will be coming at the 6th of October and I have booked two nights in a guesthouse.
For the coming time I´d rather live together with Ethiopian people in a house/flat to share some time together and maybe I can sleep over at your place for some days so I get to know the city a bit and maybe you or your friends know a place for me to stay.
I am going to spend a lot of time in the Black Lion Hospital, so it would be convenient for me not to stay too far away from there.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have already spend one year in Ghana and one year in Thailand and I have made the experience, that living with locals is a far more interesting and enriching experience than living alone. You get to know the culture and customs from a totally different side and thats more, what I am looking for.

Interests

I am highly interested in politics and I am engaged in some political groups. Besides I enjoy long night clubbing and hanging around with a coffee reading books or watching movies.
I like to do long distance runs, I go rock-Climbing and hiking and actually I am happy about all kind of sports I get to do. I hope to do a hiking tour in Ethiopia. I will take my hiking boots along;)

Music, Movies, and Books

Thats hard to say. I like dancing to electronic music as well as to rock`n roll or jazz. After having spend one year in Ghana, I started listening to hip Life and there are a lot of Nigerian/Ghanaian songs I still play at partys!
My favorite movie is „a beautiful mind“. I like reading all sort of books. Right now I read a book written my Chinua Achebe (Things Falling apart).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I recently hitchhiked from Germany to Turkey, Istanbul, which was a really amazing trip. I slept outside in a tent and got to know many interesting people. I finally arrived Istanbul after a 5 week journey.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Well, I hope we can become friends, do some stuff together and share precious moments. I like cooking ( and everything what has to do something with foods;)), discussions and I think, that living with a person from another country, we can both get inspired and learn from each other.
