ABOUT ME
I am a mathematician with an additional degree in "Complex Systems Science", which is basically "science" since it covers a wide array of topics. My studies were in Belgium, France and England. I've been member of the scouts for 17 years, of which 5 years as a scout leader. My time in scouting has been really great and taught me a lot. For travel, I enjoy both camping (or road trips) and short city trips. My other interests include music, and I'm also very happy whenever I can help someone with their problems in math :)
I tend to think a lot about things, some people might think I'm something of a distracted professor type. I'm not that good at instant friend-making but when I'm comfortable around people I can probably enrich the conversation with some witty comment or silly trivia ;)

I enjoy talking about anything which is not too superficial, since I'm rather bad at small talk. Science, music, ways of life, things you've done...

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I appreciate a lot of bands. Arctic Monkeys, the Libertines, Franz Ferdinand, Bloc Party, ... Older bands like The Smiths, REM, U2, The Rolling Stones...
I also like more funky music. Prince, Funkadelic, Jamie Lidell, Earth Wind and Fire, and occasionally some hip hop (The Fugees, Mary J Blige, ...)
The album I've listened to in its entirety the most is probably Manu Chao: Radio Bemba Sound System.
Movies that left an impression were Into The Wild and Y Tu Mama Tambien.
