Please don't take the below to serious, wrote it many years ago, I have to change parts of it, just to lazy at the moment :D
I'm happy with good people around me. Good people mean good energy and this is far more valuable than this silly comsumer behavior, which happens nowadays in too many places.
I love to travel since I'm 19. But my opinion of traveling changed A LOT since my first far distance hitchhiking trip when I was hitchhiking across 16 countries from Germany to middle East and back and a 7 months hitchhiking russia experience through the biggest country of our planet. I learned a lot in this period and am very happy about this experience. I know, that hitchhiking doesn't seem like a comfortable way of traveling for many people. But in my opinion it's the best way to get acquainted to a countrie's culture, because you are in close contact to the local people. And be sure, that this contact will be even more special than with CS, coz CS is a community of privileged people, who mostly can speak the English language and are somehow connected to the Western world. But there are so many other people, who are also beautiful individuals and live at amazing and unbelievable places, who you would never meet without Hitchhiking.
I love sleeping in abandoned building and pitch my tent or hammock inside them. Esspecially when they are historical. Abandoned train stations, bunkers, churches i don't care, it's thrilling to sleep in them. I even dream more actively inside those places.
I hate planes. It's a pseudo travel, which let's you skip the most important: the stuff in between two places. Isn't it weird to board a plane in germany to arrive a few movies and a shitty meal later on another continent?
I learned on my last journey, that a travel by the land is so much more valuable. You see how peoples appearance change, architecture changes, religions change, the landscape changes and even the climate changes. And all of this changes slooooowly. You'll never get a so called culture shock, coz you are inside the progress of changing. Think about your absolutely dream country. For example India. And now imagine how epic it would be to reach it by the land, with your own power, not with the help of some airplane, which even pollutes our environment so bad. You would feel 10 times for happy and 100times more proud, than arriving in the same country at the airport. I promise you.
Hiking is my passion. I Love it, when You are in the Nature, far from City noises and the abundance of our society and when you get the Feeling of what is really important in Life. Beeing more Happy about a nice View Out of your tents door than getting another new Mobile Phone or similar insignificant stuff ... that's life.

As I wrote, i Love all Kind of books. Tell me a title of a good book and I'll probably read it.
Next to classical authors Like Franz Kafka one Guy changed my opinion about what a good book have to be Like: Gregory David Roberts "Shantaram" changed Not only my opinion of modern literature, it even changed my View of Life in some aspects.
