Über mich
CURRENT MISSION
Run beautiful trails in every country/city/village I visit!
ABOUT ME
Outdoor person and health nut! I love to run and hike trails and take photos along the way!
PHILOSOPHY
"Be the change you want to see in the world...." Never a truer word said.
I believe deeply in treating all living beings as you would your friend or family member.
Kindness is underrated and personal success is over rated.
Living solo allows me to be fully me. I don't need or want a partner. I value friendships and independence far above having a life partner. It's just not important to me.
Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
This is my first time looking to couch surf...officially anyway!
I forgot all about it....I hope to have some great experiences and then do so,e hosting myself when I return home to Australia,
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
None officially...but house minding and Air B&B and hosteling.... and especially sharing tiny tents on high mountains prepares you for anything,
I also used to do Adventure Racing and trying to squeeze 3 smelly people into a 1man tent to sleep for 90mins on a multi day race is a helluva way to test your ability to sleep anywhere
Interessen
Animals, trail running, conservation, the environment, health and fitness, Veganism, mountaineering and adventure racing.
I also love to read, relax and listen to pleasant, laid back music and chat. I enjoy preparing clean, green food and generally being healthy and at peace.

Currently reading Cheryl Strayed's "Wild".... Appropriately enough!
Current favourite band is London Grammar.
Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe
Climbing to the summit of a 6400m peak in Peru called Ausangate a couple of years ago. The hardest climb I've done so far but it was descending on ice tools on a 200m head wall 17hrs later in a thunderstorm was an experience I will never forget... Thunder claps beside you instead of above!!!!!
I drove myself around Morocco for two months and had many wonderful adventures... One that stands out for its sheer uniqueness and humanity was staying the night in the most basic of camps with a nomad lady and her 6yo son in the Sahara..... Just the three of us.
No language shared but none necessary. Just kindness and willingness to just "be".....it opened my heart and my eyes.
Just last week in Switzerland, i set off from Zermatt at 0430 alone and hiked up to the most beautiful lake at about 2700m and watched the sunrise....the Matterhorn perfectly reflected on it as the sun crept across its glassy surface...It was so dreamlike and perfect I actually had a little cry :)
I spent 3 hours there under a perfect blue sky on a bank above the lake..eating my breakfast that I'd brought in my pack, resting, smiling, dreaming, dozing....so very very content. And then I ran all the way back to Zermatt... :)
Lehren, lernen, teilen
About animal rights.
About creating incredibly delicious and healthy whole food meals.
How to learn to love exercising.
How to learn to be independent and free.
I would like to learn more about self sufficiency, growing my own produce, living more sustainably, building things, steel guitar, improving my paddling and mountain biking skills...I've not done either for two years...
