ABOUT ME

I have about three/four days a week for making my own work (for more info check http://www.mediamatic.net/person-15236-nl.html for my art profile). The rest of the time I work in a store for Underground comics (acquisition). I also help disabled people running their household for about one day a week. I used to work as lighting technician in an underground music club (VERA, www.vera-groningen.nl) but nowadays don't have the time. I am also on the editorial board for Mental Floss: Multidisciplinary evenings where arts, science and wild amateurism meet (http://www.vhdg.nl/floss/index_uk.html).

PHILOSOPHY

I think i am a weed (i prosper in adverse circumstances).
I think everything is quite wonderful and weird enough as it is (ie no religion).
I don't mind coming back as somebodys nostrils (i am a big fan of recycling).

I'm new to this, but i have a good couch and intend to make it available. And i might intend to use yours too...

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've stayed on somebody's couch for half a year (!) while studying in New York. This was a friend-of-a-friend. I was meant to start renting something, but having left my wallet at the airport in NL before going on board, I was frighteningly short of cash.
We wound up having a really nice time, eating banana ice cream and frequenting an odd chinese restaurant with Miami style cocktails.

Interests

I am Really into comics (Chris Ware, Mark Beyer, Charles Burns), movies (Ming-Liang Tsai, Werner Herzog, & i have a terrible love for comic-based films such as V for Vendetta or HellBoy) & books (Big favourite: Slaughterhouse five). I like preparing and eating food (mostly sweets) & And i am a big fan of wild amateur activity.
