About Me

CURRENT MISSION

See the world and enjoy it!

ABOUT ME

I hate describing myself, but here we go. I'm 23 years old and a full-time student. I'm generally a very social guy and most of my hobbies involve hanging out with people: Having a drink, playing games, cooking together or just hanging out. I enjoy partying, which I do often and visiting concerts, which I don't do quite enough. My other hobby is travelling which I combine with my fascination for everything old. Being a history student I love visiting cities and being the tourist there. I'm working on going into politics, preferably in Brussels.

PHILOSOPHY

Live life to the fullest as you only live once, enjoy every second of it. No regrets and it'll all be fine.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

The reason I'm starting out with Couchsurfing is because I have a great urge to see the world and meet new people. This summer I'll be travelling Europe with my girlfriend, who I met while travelling Vietnam (she's Australian). I live in Utrecht and my house is always available for couchsurfers. I can host up to 5 people if my roommates co-operate a bit and I'm more than willing to do so.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've had some people stay over last year and I've entertained couchsurfers from friends before. Last year didn't go so well with finding couches to sleep on so I stayed in Hostels a lot which was a pity. Hoping this year will be better.

Interests

History, music(all kinds), partying, politics, the news(I'm addicted to the news), travelling, movies(preferably horrible B-class zombie movies) and basically hanging out with people.

Music, Movies, and Books

Where to start:
As I said anything involving zombies.
Movies:
Scott Pilgrim vs the World
Juno
Hard Candy
The Blues Brothers
Planet Earth
etc. etc. I've basically seen everything in the IMDB top 250. I love movies.

Music:
Some of my personal favourites include: Pink Floyd, Rammstein, Explosions in the Sky, DeWolff, Infected Mushroom. But I'm up for almost everything, love good DnB parties, Dubstepp, Hardrock, Progrock the works. I even listen to classical music alot. Just don't like Hiphop and R&B much.

Books:
Ive read quite alot in my life. Both for fun and for my studies. As such I've read alot of historic works. I like books with a philosophical/religious underlining. Paulo Coelho's works for instance or Harry Mulisch, also Pascal Mercier(which inspired me to travel). My favourite books of the moment are a bit easier to read: George Martin's a song of Ice and Fire.
To be honest, if I have enough time I'll read anything.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Three years ago I decided to travel to Vietnam with two guys I'd met only 3 months earlier. We went for a month and had the time of my life. They're now two of my best friends and it was the most amazing experience in the world. I've met loads of people(mainly from Australia) one of whom ended up being my girlfriend after we both went to see each other in Thailand.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm fascinated by history and all that it encompasses. As such I have quite the large amount of knowledge on this subject which always makes travelling more interesting for me and those with me. I'm also always up-to-date on politics and the news in general, which is a big hobby of mine. Last thing is my tendency to remember silly facts about alot of silly stuff, which amuses myself and those around me.
