About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Meet fellow travel lovers and meeting amazing people all over the world!
ABOUT ME
My husband and I recently moved back to the States after teaching English in Japan for two years. As soon as I came back, I was ready to travel and see the world again!
PHILOSOPHY
It's important for everyone in their life to be in the minority and to surround yourself with people who disagree with you. Unless you do that, you will never really understand your own life and choices.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
We hosted about 15 guests through couchsurfing while we lived in Japan, and we loved meeting people and showing them the places we loved! We're now in a living situation where we can't host people, but we hope to meet other hosts around the world in our travels!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
We hosted guests for two years at our apartment in Japan. I loved meeting so many people through Couchsurfing that I wouldn't have met otherwise!
Interests
I love art, cooking, and learning about other cultures. He loves board games, video games, and wood-burning. We both love classical music, history, movies, and reading.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like: Ken Follett, non-fiction, history, documentaries, Tina Fey, Nina Simone, classical music, and I'm partial to 60s Japanese pop music.
He likes: Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Celtic music, opera, and any good movies.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have so many stories from living in Japan! Some of my favorites:
-Climbed Mount Fuji! I am incredibly out of shape, but I still managed to fight through altitude sickness and weakness and make it to the top!
-Volunteered in the Fukushima evacuation zone, cleaning up yards and houses. Definitely some of the most meaningful volunteer work I've done.
Teach, Learn, Share
After living in Fukushima for two years, I have a lot of information about the situation there that I want to share with anyone who will listen. I also can speak Japanese, and I'm a decent cook. Also, I work in news so I can give you objective and moderate opinions about the news (surprisingly rare in these times). My husband can woodburn and is an amazing writer. We both love to sing!
