ABOUT ME

I was born in Poitiers, France. I studied foreign languages and cultures at University (English, Spanish and Italian) as well as International Trade and other related subjects.

Dynamic, open-minded, easy-going and very curious about everything in the good sense of the term - that sounds like me. As most people here I guess, I really enjoy meeting new people and I am always ready for new adventures!

I cannot live without art and culture : I especially like watching films. I also like listening to all sorts of music (most often jazz, ambient and electronic music) and recently got interested in taking photos.

First experience in Japan (March-May 2011)

I went there to live among Japanese people, to speak Japanese and to discover the culture from the inside (everyday life) and not from a tourist point of view. I wanted to have to adapt, to change my ways, to see how far I could go. A self-discovering trip in essence. I stayed 3 months in Japan to have enough time to get an insight of what it means to live in Japan.

Wrath of the Earth

I was in Kansai when the earthquake happened. I thought a lot and came to the conclusion the best way to help the Japanese people was not to run away but to stay and keep on travelling. Life must go on but we must never forget. And most importantly, endeavour to find a way to make of this planet a nice place to live for future generations.

Current experience in Japan (January 2012 - January 2013)

I came back in Japan under a working-holiday visa to have a true living experience this time. First, to improve my proficiency in Japanese and then to discover the " Far Sides " of Japan, namely Hokkaido (Winter) and Okinawa (Summer). These two places have a culture and a climate of their own that cannot be found anywhere else in the rest of the archipelago. I am also contemplating studying Film (techniques and industry) in Japan next year.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

For the time being, I am travelling in Japan and I unfortunately don't have a place on my own where I could host travellers. Someday, for sure.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have been lucky to go to many places : Southern Ireland, Spain, England, the United States, China, Burma, Mauritius Island and I am currently travelling in Japan.

I decided to start the CouchSurfing adventure just before my first trip to Japan (March 2011) to experiment a new way of travelling and share the everyday life of people living here.

I have made so wonderful encounters... It's like a dream but it's real.
