About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Learn, teach, write and conquer my fear of strangers.

ABOUT ME

I'm a self proclaimed word nerd, I love languages and grammer, and want to be an English teacher and writer. I love working with students from all different backgrounds.
I love making small and detailed things to put in my etsy shop. I play the viola rather badly, but still cheerfully.
I love to eat good Mexican food (Black Mole, mmmm) and am learning to try new and weird foods with an open mind.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm an evangelical Christian, and try and let my actions show that. I've found that giving time, money, or effort to someone else is the most rewarding thing I've ever experienced.

Interests

Music, Movies, and Books

The Woman in White, The Moonstone, Lord Peter Wimsey Mysteries, The Lord of the Rings, The Chronicles of Narnia, A Tale of Two Cities, The Count of Monte Cristo, Harry Potter series, The No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency.

TV shows: Doctor Who, Sherlock, Firefly

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I had the awesome opportunity to help at a clinic in Oaxaca, Mexico. The group of doctors I was with completed 35 sucessful cataract surgeries. I sat in the waiting room with the patients and their families and talked with them.
I volunteered with children at a feeding center in Oaxaca.
I did a 35km bike trip over rough dirt and cobblestone roads from Santa Maria del Tule to Tlacolula.
I was invited to a graduation party by a Mexican family who lived in a tiny tin shack, but were pretty much the most hospitable people I've ever met.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to learn bits of different languages.
