About Me
Hello there! Im currently living in Austin Texas but I'm hoping to move to Philadelphia this fall. I moved here from New Orleans last year. Thought id see if i like it here. Well, Texas and austin is just no for me. I did enjoy the warm winter . but Its just becoming too expensive to live. Did to much food service work and very little playing music and performing. Austin's kinda a cross between Southern cali ( orange county kinda)and the conservative south mixed with a little Texmex in there. Ha! But i enjoyed it somewhat. My best friend lives in West Philly. And he's told me i might like it! Ive always wanted to live in a big east coast city . So here goes! goin' for it! I'd like to find a couch i can stay on for a week or so to find an apt or a shared house living situation. Set up some interviews and such. Little bit about me:
my favorite thing to do in this world is to play music for people or with people and make people dance ..or just give them some soothing inspiration thru music:)! I love teaching music also. I teach private guitar and banjo lessons. Have been for the 15 years. I skateboard a little bit. always have my whole life. And photography is my other passion as well. Love film photography and movies and music videos especially. Im hoping to start up a little string band in philly and perform around town weekly. Im also going to be enrolling in the community college there and take some wood working classes. Very excited about that!
I lived in costa mesa , California for about 5 years doing the college life. Got a BA in film making and audio production . But needed to escape Socal and headed up to Portland Oregon. There i did Photography Assistant work professionally and got into making coffee and also performing with my old time music string band. Fell in love with old-time music:)
Enjoyed the NW life. beautiful country side. Stayed there for almost 9 years. And after that, i traveled a little bit around the Appalachian moutain states, North carolina and virginia . I was soaking up the traditional old time mountain music for a few years. Then i headed to New orleans and played music professionally for about a year, ... found my way over to austin tx ...and here I'm looking forward to going east now!!!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love the opportunity to give travelers and whoever the chance to see a new place with the help of locals who know whats happening. Making friends is so easy thru couch surfing. In my experience traveling and couch surfing with others, it s nice because folks know whats going on around town. They can point you in the right direction. This helps you get a better taste for the city and more quickly. And its just simply more exciting staying with nice folks that are fun and adventurous already!
