ABOUT ME

I'm Jared, I grew up in Canada and have also lived in Australia and New Zealand. Finished University with a degree in Business. I prefer not to make too strict of plans as I would rather just go with it.

I've spent most of my life playing a variety of sports from basketball and golf to skiing, snowboarding, kayaking, and a little wakeboarding and wakesurfing. Right now I day dream of surfing everyday and am starting to get into hiking and climbing. Love doing adventurous and adrenaline filled activities as well as socializing with new and old friends over drinks as well as just chilling and reading. Always looking for an opportunity to make new stories. I also love to eat heaps of food.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Always found it better to be shown around by locals!

Also hopefully when I'm home one day people will come and visit me. Would love to show people that Saskatchewan isn't just flat and boring.

Interests

I love trying out something new and am always open to new experiences.

Always happy to receive book recommendations even if I might not be able to get to reading said book for awhile as the list seems to never stop growing.

Hearing travel stories is always exciting. Places I should see or things I should do. Stories on how a terrible situation turned into an amazing experience is always great motivation to try new and random things on my travels.

Pretty passionate about becoming a better surfer. It's difficult being landlocked in the middle of Canada, but I travel to surf as much as I can!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Went skydiving dressed as Santa two days before Christmas while I was living in Sydney.

Seen some pretty extraordinary sunrises while living in New Zealand.

Stood atop a lookout point in Split, Croatia and watched the moon rise.

Had the most amazing pizza I've ever eaten while in Albania. It still brings tears to my eyes thinking about the beauty of it.

Worked at a surf camp in Senegal where I got to surf every day!
