Hello! My name is Jarkko Liedes, a 23 year old man currently living in Oulu, Finland.

The common stereotype about Finns is, that we are quiet, timid and quite "gray". I happen to be the opposite; talkative and upbeat. I can speak English, some Swedish and a (very) little bit of French, hopefully I'll keep learning more!

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

I have experienced great travels with my friends, in Finland and abroad. I wish to help people see the world, experience new things and give them the same kind of kindness and compassion people have showed me. In turn I hope to be able to receive that kind of kindness and help when I travel.

I am new on the Couchsurfing website, but I have on my travels stayed over friends, friend of a friend or a relative. Through this service, I can host a guest, just like I have been hosted!

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

I am a huge fan of the 70's, 80's and 90's music, particularly disco and europop! I don't spend a lot of time in front of a TV, so I can't really say what my favourite movie would be.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

I have made a "half-Europe-tour" with a carful of joyous people of who I only knew one person in advance and the rest I got to know during the journey! I got to experience different cultures, different cuisine, see different cities and explore the more local life and visit local people - it has left me with really valuable experiences and memories.

Enseignez, apprenez, partagez

I have studied biology, biomedicine and laboratory technology a fair bit, meaning if our interests in such match, maybe I could teach you something interesting! I'd love to learn more about the culture of the country I'm visiting in, the general life and such. I can bake, am a very amateur cider homebrewer and can do a bit of sewing, these things I can certainly share.

I like to bake and know a few traditional Finnish treats, and making of them, which I'm happy to share. I'm also happy to help with what I can!
