About Me

Hello! My name is JaRon Marshall. I am a musician who resides in the wonderful city of Lafayette, in Southern Louisiana. The piano is my main instrument. I have been playing for a number of years, and I am grateful for the continued opportunity to do it for a living.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As I mentioned, I am a full time musician, so that being said, I am always looking for a way to save money. I found out about Couchsurfing from my wonderful girlfriend and thought it would be a good way to visit other cities, whether for business or pleasure, while saving money (to spend it on more music equipment, of course).

Interests

Aside from playing music with my friends, I also enjoy reading, writing, playing sports (basketball is my favorite), cycling, drawing, painting, and meeting new people!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love many styles of music, but some of my favorite artists are:

Kendrick Lamar
Jimi Hendrix
Ronnie Foster
Booker T Jones
Anderson Paak
Kamasi Washington
Thundercat
Knxwledge
Madlib

My favorite movie of all time is Amadeus, which is a fabricated story about the life of Mozart.

Some of my favorite books are:

Invisible Man - Ralph Ellison
Dubliners - James Joyce
12 years a slave - Solomon Northup
Aside from that, I enjoy delving into literature and non fiction works as much as possible. Always eager to learn something new!!

P.S. my favorite artists are Jean-Michel Basquit, Keith Harring, and Salvador Dali.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the most amazing experiences I have had, was playing New Orleans Jazz Fest for the first time. It was amazing and the crowd was huge! Looking forward to where I will go next in my musical career....

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to learn about different interests that make us all different. One of my best traits is my ability to get along with anyone, no matter where they are in life.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can serenade you on piano, show you an artist that you may never have heard of, or discuss the universe, politics, history, or many other subjects with you for hours.
