About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Figure out how to maintain enduring relationships over years of travels and moving
ABOUT ME
Born and raised in Auckland, New Zealand... started working as a software developer and have spent years in Wellington and Christchurch. I am a proud survivor of the crazy Christchurch earthquakes.
I've spent the past year travelling around Europe and South America... a trip I never planned for, it just grew out of... realizing just how fucking fun travelling is, and a general hatred for the idea of going back to work. :) Spent months in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Ireland, Scotland, England, IoM, Italy, Brazil, Bolivia, Peru, and Colombia.
After spending the better part of a year doing my own thing in Germany, and another half year doing my own thing in Ireland, I'm contenting myself exploring Prague for the next while.
PHILOSOPHY
Why is it I always find sections like this a bit preachy to fill out? I live life because I enjoy it... I'm the happiest guy I know. Every few years I tend to change what I want from life, my outlook, my goals... all I can really ever do is follow my heart wherever it leads, and enjoy the journey there.
Interests
sketching, programming, meditation, reading, writing, philosophy, adventure, travel, exercising, baking, trying new things, exploring, contemplating, sculpting, cider, sunshine, pottery, learning German, and especially Germany. :D

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: strangely enough, and a little embarrassingly, recently it's almost only Taylor Swift. :D I love all kinds of electronica though, especially trance... pity New Zealand isn't big on it!
Movies: I love action flick, comedy, and again embarrassingly, I actually do like chick flicks. Dramas... not so much.
Books: oh, right now I'm hooked on autobiographies. Anything written by anyone with a fascinating story... from the renaissance master Benvenuto Cellini, to the douchebag Casanova... to oddly adventurous and charismatic men like Dr. Richard Feynman, who worked on the Manhattan Project. Charlie Chaplin, the lists go on...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Top three bizarre experiences since I left home:
1. Was invited to go shoot grenade launchers by a grey-haired american military man.
2. Sitting 2 stories up in the treetops of a Bolivian jungle, involuntarily having my nipple sucked by an alpha-male monkey...
3. Spent a time on a wooden loo, in a wooden hut with no door... no light, torch, or anything in the middle of the Peruvian jungle... feeling the buffetting of bats' wings above my head as they fly around, with the enormous jungle trees looming over me, hearing all those crazy noises of frogs and stuff... all while high on traditional hallucinogenic drugs. *rolls eyes*
Teach, Learn, Share
There's three topics I've spent the past several years learning about... and can talk endlessly about to anyone who cares to hear one man's take on the most important subjects in life.
1) confidence,
2) happiness,
3) masculinity
