About Me

I am a Sailor and a traveler. I do it for the journey, not the destination (although it does help to have one now and again). Laissez faire, C'est la vie.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The nature of my work often has me crossing the country one way or another. While the Gentleman Adventurer would always prefer a room, never did Allan Quartermain nor Indiana Jones scoff at barns, haylofts, outbuildings, where ever the man on the stoop says is ok for random travelers to sleep. I know we are a long way from the vagabonds of Victorian Europe and the hobos of the 20's, but that is how I like to do it. Like my granddad used to say, "If it's good enough for our boys in WWII, it's good enough for me."

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've sailed the length of the west coast (Vancouver, BC- San Diego, CA) and back again.
Twice.

Teach, Learn, Share

pick my brain.....I dare you. I am learning to play a concertina so if you want to hear strange squawking I can do that. I sing, particularly sea chanties, of which I have a wide range whit which to entertain kids, Grandma, or drunk fratboys and soccer hooligans. Stories aplenty from many journeys and places as well as fables and tales from around the world and history of time. If discourse in Science and History or Philosophy and The Arts is more your speed you should find me ample for the task. I fix things too. From chicken coops to roofs, your car or small equipment, sharpen knives and tools, dig a hole and replace it with a garden. How do you like it?
Suitable for: Fireside chats, Raging parties, Visits with Grandma, Show and Tell.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Everything. What I have I will share. Knowledge, stories, food, shelter, Just ask and I'll do what I can.
