About Me
CURRENT MISSION
We are on 6 month trip. We started in Asia and subsequently drove our old car down from Amsterdam, NL to Aqaba, Jordan. From here we will fly to Zambia and travel overland to Namibia.
ABOUT ME
We, Jasper & Armida, are a happy talkative couple from The Netherlands. We love to travel. For the last six years we have been working in a laboratory to get our PhD. Therefore we decided to take a break. So we set off in Asia and continued on a roadtrip in our 16-year-old car. In 2 1/2 months we visited 10 different countries, going from Amsterdam to Aqaba, Jordan. We will continue in Africa where we will visit Zambia and Namibia. After the trip we will continue studying cancer in New York City.
PHILOSOPHY
Discover as much as possible!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
We just discovered CS, throurgh fellow travellers. At this moment we cannot offer a couch (as we don't have a fixed address) only a ride. However during our big trip we found that it would be very nice if we could help other travellers. So when we move to New York we are planning to get more involved in hosting.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
We first met Andrew and Randall, two American guys riding a bike around the world, for a good cause (www.orphanride.org). They informed us about couchsurfing. Lateron we met Ghassab in Petra. He cooked us a wonderfull couchsurfing meal. And we met Sarah and Karsten two fellow couchsurfers.

Visiting the island of Madagascar, we have never seen such beautiful animals.
Encountering the people of Syria, their country has a bad reputation, but we found them the friendliest and most generous people we have met so far.
Diving off the coast of Borneo.
Having diner in a South Indian restaurant in the middle of New York City.
