Overview
About Me
Hi, my name is Jasmijn, 26 years old and currently living in the Hague,Netherlands.
I live in a villa or big house near the beach, with 7 others. Some are students, and some are working both guys and girls.
I'm currently graduating in my BA photography, so I am trying to work really hard to finish my thesis asap and then doing a final photography project.
To pay for uni and my living, I work in a hostel, in Scheveningen, where I do reception work, bartending, and I take care of programming parties and other events. I meet up with local dj's, arrange graphic design, and do social media for them.
I enjoy snowboarding when I can and in summer I like to surf, although the waves are pretty shit and I'm also pretty shit it's great! I also used to work for several summer seasons in a surfcamp in the South-West coast of France, near Biarritz.
I would describe my character as sociable, easygoing, independent.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm considering doing a photography project abroad, but it'll only be possible financially if I find a place to stay.

Music, Movies, and Books
My favourite film of all times is definitely the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Which makes me a total nerd.
I like rock music, indie, afro, disco, bad 90ties, bad 80ties music.
My favourite bands are currently the Rolling Stones, Black keys, Ocean Alley, Tame Impala.
I loved to read when I was little, but I hardly do it nowadays. Latest read was for my thesis, I bought a book from Tony Ousler (Imponderable) who has a huge archive on any object / photo / document relating to the subconscious, but also magic, both fake musicians, as things from sjamans.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I did an amazing 6 months internship in Londen with my photography hero - who worked for Vogue Italia, Numero, Mac cosmetics, and other big clients but also had a succesfull artist practice which was really cool.
London never really drew me in before - but this experience was mind blowing. I learned so much new things I would have never learned if it wasn't for the guys at my internship. Next to that I worked in a restaurant to pay my bills and I went partying a lot in the weekends, I met a friend who worked for a really good music agency. She took me along for the best parties in underground scene in London, which is - when you haven't got any friends yet - a great start.
If you stay a long time in your own environment - it makes your thinking a bit conditioned. So it was great to get out of routine and do this as a part of uni.
