About me?

My name‘s Rémy and I’ve been living in Basel for the greater half of my life. Let me tell you: Basel is by far lovelier than Zurich, our wannabe capital ;-) )

I works as an urbanist and spatial planner in one of the two villages that also belong to the district (Kanton) of Basel - Stadt, in Riehen (where you’ll find the Fondation Beyeler, reknown for it‘s architecture and contemporary art exhibitions). You have no clue what the meaning of urbanism or contemporary art is? Don‘t worry, most people don‘t - including me at times :P

There is (almost) no topic you couldn't talk about me besides sporrs, actually 😅). I‘m oftwn highly interested in all kind of topics - so shoot away. I also have a very humorous nature and am a silly billy at the age of 30.

So, if you‘re still up for it, holler and I‘ll see if I can arrange to host you and show you around, if you like. As I work most od the time, I‘m not super fast to answer, but I‘ll give it my best :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I wanted to travel the world (with my ex).

First came Covid, just when we wanted to head out. Then went the relationship.

But I haven‘t given up the dream. And I am looking forward to finally embark on this big journey.

Until then, I‘d like to get a taste of the world - and bring yours into my small, but lovely living room.

What I Can Share with Hosts

First of all, I can show you Basel and its beautiful places like the promenades along the Rhine or the Minster with its two towers and their fantastic view of the city. Then, I can take you on a pubcrawl to get a taste of local craft beer or worldly cocktails. Or, if you prefer a cultural immersion, I can take you to one of the 30-ish or so museums in town. Any takers?:)

I want you to spend an interesting stay in Basel. That's why I offer you the choice to either discover Basel together or to venture on your own - or both!
However: As I work almost fulltime, I cannot offer you superspontaneous accommodation. But I’m sure we can figure something out :)
