About Me

Just out here seeing the world and chasing my dreams I suppose. I'm an avid traveller and am currently attempting to try and start a writing/editing career half a world away from my hometown while travelling.
I grew up in the country and that's where I love to be: hiking, camping, and climbing mountains just to see the view from the top.

Places I've been and loved:
Europe: Talin, Estonia (picturesque city and old town), Paris (still my favourite place to buy bread and food), Greece, UK and Ireland, Italy, Scandinavia (viking memorials are dope).
New Zealand: Roadtripped and skied the South Island and am still blown away by the stunning beauty of the wilderness there.
China and Japan: Xi'an (incredible city with the best food market I've ever been to), Shanghai, Kyoto (oh, take me back), Hiroshima, Hiked the Kumano Kodo Pilgrimage route, and severed my ACL while skiing in Hakuba (I will 100% be skiing again).

Currently living in Vermont, USA (as a camp counselor) and will shortly be moving to New York City for the next couple of months.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love writing and editing and hope I can pursue my passions in New York while I'm there for a couple of months. But I'll be exploring some of the US and Canada before I arrive and am hoping to find some like-minded travellers to hang out with. I also think a global community of travellers is pretty neat and am excited to be a part of it!

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: Sci-fi/Fantasy is my jam. A brief selection of my favourite authors include: Kameron Hurley, N.K. Jemisin, Ann Lecky, Patrick Rothfuss, Derek Landy, Garth Nix, Naomi Novak, Terry Pratchett, Patrick Ness, Yoon Ha Lee.

Music: A bit of everything from everywhere. Triple J is where I get all my music recs. Currently into a lot of housy dance type music, love me some Aussie hiphop, and can get down to all types of indie.

Movies: Pacific Rim, Star Wars, Mad Max Fury Road, Edge of Tomorrow, Lord of the Rings.
I also watch a fair few anime series and youtube series. I'm currently binging Critical Role RPG Show and have previously almost died laughing at the Adventure Zone podcast.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I hiked the Kumano Kodo Pilgrimage route on the Kii Peninsula in Japan. Was the best five days of intense walking, stunning vistas, pure homemade Japanese food, historical site seeing, and luxury accommodation I've ever had.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm pretty good at writing and editing? Need some help, I got you!
I also love drawing in my down time (what little of it I have) and have been teaching myself digital art for the past year and a half :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

Mad cooking skillz and a sense of cleanliness. I have a sense of adventure and love to get involved in things. I love to learn about the coolest places I can visit and I think sharing the things we love together is one of the best interactions to have.

Countries I’ve Visited

China, England, Estonia, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Scotland, Sweden, Taiwan, Wales

Countries I’ve Lived In
