About Me
Hey! My name is Jasmine and I'm 19yo. I'm half Finnish/half French and living in Montpellier at the moment. I just moved here to study Psychology at the University. Before moving here, I lived inHelsinki, where I am originally from and worked there as a barista. As a person, I am pretty relaxed and I enjoy spending time with my friends. I love meeting people from all around the word, from different cultures because I think that opens up my sights on how differently people perceive this world.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on this app, to be able to travel around the world and in the same time meet amazing people, locals, that really are the roots of the culture that they are living in. Also I like the concept of inviting people to your home, it really fights against the hotel and hostel business, and allows youth to travel and receive to their homes people coming from all around the world.

Music, Movies, and Books
I can't really define my favorite music genre, or even artist. One of my biggest icons in the music industry is Amy Winehouse (loved the documentary on her too) because of her style, her voice and her appearance to the crowd. Besides that, I can really listen to any music genre, if I feel like the artist is interesting and invests din what they are doing. The genres/artists I listen to the most at the moment are Halsey, Alt-J, Jazz and Blues-musicians such as Nina Simone and Etta James, Radiohead, Depeche mode, Billy Joel...
In the field of movies, I prefer documentaries. They really have this eye-opening effect, and I love learning from concepts/phenomenon that aren't familiar to me. I have to confess tho that when I am completely worn out after a day at work/at uni I love to wind down and watch a good few episodes of Friends, HIMYM, modern family or other series that really don't need much brainwork.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I would see the fact of moving to another country as one of the most amazing things I've done, because it has always been a dream of mine and now I finally got to accomplish it.
If I have to think of another thing, it's definitely writing music. I don't see it as an amazing thing itself, but the moment when you get to share your music, your thoughts and your feelings with other people is one of the most amazing moments from my point of view. It's amazing how hard patches in your life written down into lyrics can help other people with their similar experiences, help them heal and maybe feel safer knowing that there's someone that has experienced similar things.
Teach, Learn, Share
Well, if I think of things that I can teach to others it would be languages and music. I speak English, French and Finnish fluently so I will be able to help you in any of these languages if you are willing to learn ;) Also if you are interested in learning the basics in the guitar, in the piano or in the flute I can always help you with those to get started at least.
I would love to learn to speak Spanish and also learn from you guys! (whatever skills you have, sharing is the best part of meeting new people)
So i am looking forward to learning skills from you, maybe "local skills" that I could use in the towns I visit or in the other way around teach you something of the languages or places I know while yo are staying here! Or if we have the time get started on the basics of playing the guitar..
What I Can Share with Hosts
This is to sum up the box just above this one, but I feel like meeting new people is always sharing experiences, it's sharing your life with another one. I am a really openminded person and I started studying psychology because I am interested in the human behavior and how different cultures can modify those behaviors.
What I hope, is to mutually share our experiences and perception of different things and maybe even experience things together, that's the definition of sharing to me!
