Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I did not even know that such services are available for travelers until early 2016 that a virtual friend of mine took a trip to Egypt and shared her experiences in Facebook , mentioning this site where she had found many locals in Cairo and Alexandria. So I got really interested in the idea of meeting new people from other countries and spend some time with them.
Although I am still a bit worried about my personal security and how I can be sure that a person is really who he/she says, but I think it worths to try.
