About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Discovering how things came to be this way
ABOUT ME
I like smiling, assuming best intentions, learning nonviolent communication, making trouble for big bad corporations/forest clear cutters/coal exporters and teaching others to do the same through nonviolent direct action trainings. I like houses with lots of housemates, political posters on the wall, a cat or two, a big craft box and gas stove tops with big pots and cast iron pans. I like living in Portland and having honest, heated conversations about microbrews: should I go with the across town organic or the newest brand on my block? I like dis-topian sci-fi novels that challenge society's idea of progress and historical nonfiction about amazing women that my history books left out. I like popcorn, big breakfasts, and hot sauce. I like believing that if everyone worked towards a happiness based on non-materialistic goods and services that we'd be a lot better off.
Most of my free time is spent in our epic garden or hanging out with the chickens (actually, they are pretty ambivalent about me, but i really like them).
PHILOSOPHY
The world is not made of atoms, the world is made of stories.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
During my time in the co-op we probably hosted over 1,000 people from couchsurfing, other co-ops for word-of-mouth travelers. I love having new folks around who inspire me with their experiences and outlooks.
I have couchsurfed in the California and along bike tours in Oregon but sadly didn't have any luck in Spain.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Couchsurfing brings a whole new energy into my house. It is great to meet people who would normally pass by unnoticed. Up to now, I've mostly played host. The couchsurfers I've hosted have been nice and very helpful around the house; pitching in to do dishes or clean common spaces.
I've experienced nothing less than amazing hospitality when I've been a guest.
Interests
Justice, hula hooping, swimming in free flowing bodies of water, gardening, canning, romping, screen printing, biking around town, bike touring, hitch hiking, climbing trees, forest defense, free piles, living dirt cheap and loving life.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music that makes people dance. I like to read zines and historical fiction books. I haven't settled down enough to watch movies on a regular basis.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Over 100 people coming together to reclaim stolen land to protect a forest using tipped vehicles, lock down devices, tree sits, sky pods, bi pods and most importantly all of the passion and love one is capable of.
Teach, Learn, Share
Story swapping is my favorite way to learn.
