A city girl through and through I've lived in Ottawa for about six years. Before that I grew up in the Greater Toronto Area and went to school in London, Ontario. I have a BA in Social Justice and Peace Studies and an MA in Political Science. I’m always up for talking about politics, social issues, and local culture.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I attended a couple of Couchsurfing events through friends and had the absolute best time! This inspired me to join the site and look for my own adventures! I also really love meeting new people and getting the opportunity to enjoy new experiences.

Interests

I’m a huge movie buff! Before the pandemic I went to about three to five times movies a month at the theatre! I also love going to concerts and live events. I’m an avid bookworm and creative writer. In my spare time I love to go swing dancing and am always down for karaoke. I also enjoy yoga, kickboxing, ice skating, and Zumba. I also have a deep love of baking and make a mean chocolate mint chip cookie!

Music, Movies, and Books

When it comes to books, I love fantasy and historical fiction novels. I love every kind of movie except for horror movies, thrillers, or suspense films. My favourite movie from childhood is The Wizard of Oz. I listen to a bit of everything music wise and my favourite genres are rock, pop, and punk rock. My favourite band of all time is The Beatles.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once took a trip from Ottawa all the way out to this far off city in Quebec just to see the city lights from the pier.

Teach, Learn, Share

As far as what I can teach and share with others, I have decent sewing skills and can teach you the basics of hemming and mending (always a useful skill), I am pretty tech savvy and can usually help you out with any computer or device issues you might be having, and can help you organize or reorganize something in 10 minutes or less! :)

I want to learn whatever you want to teach me. I'm always interested in knowing more about sports and am relearning French and ASL so I am always looking for help with that.
