Overview
About Me
I'm a 23-year-old American who is currently traveling before heading back to school in the Fall of 2016.
Sports and music were my first loves; soccer, basketball, football, tennis, hip hop, and jazz to be specific. Reading for pleasure is a big part of my life, mainly fiction, though I am a sucker for a good investigative journalism piece. Longform journalism is a recent infatuation of mine, no matter the subject. I absolutely love to dance and, while I am mainly into hip hop, I am extremely open to other types of dancing.
Urban planning and its sociological impacts have always grabbed my attention. How we plan and execute our housing , transportation systems, and civic institutions has a tremendous effect on the way our communities live and interact. Travel allows me to see alternatives to what I am used to in the United States, specifically Texas.
The past couple of years I have worked at a coworking and event space. The coworking side was focused on social impact businesses so I certainly have a soft spot for social good and conscious capitalism related endeavors.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Hosting is a great joy and, with the pride I have in my city, I relish the opportunity to show Austin off. New people and perspectives are what make the world go 'round and the more the merrier!
I would also love to meet locals and see their cities from a fresh perspective when I'm traveling. Currently I am traveling on my own and while I have family around the world it would be a pleasure to meet new individuals.
