About Me

Hi,
My name is Jason and I am a 28 year-old 4th Year Medical Student from California. I grew up in the small rural town of Hollister, Ca. There I learned the value of family, support, and community. Now, I carry those qualities in my medical practice and my everyday life. I am very sociable but still respective of other's property and space. In truth I am kinda a grandpa. I do not smoke and drink alcohol very rarely on social occasions. I am early to bed and early to rise. With my spare time I love the outdoors and adventure. Water is usually the most attracting thing for me (beach, lake, pool). I also enjoy sports, especially basketball, and love a good hike.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My life is couch-surfing. I basically go from family or friends' couch to couch as my medical training has me in a different specialty at a different location each month. It is exhausting, but I am very fortunate to have great people in my life to help me in this process. But now my training is taking me out of California where I have little connections of which to connect with, so I am hoping this website can provide some assistance. I hope to not only one day pay it back in my medical service but also with a nice place that I can share with other's who are in similar situations.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love live raw music.
I am a movie fanatic. It is hard for me to not find some enjoyment in any movie.
I wish I had more spare time to pleasure read. Most of my reading currently consists of medical studies or review books.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Worked in rural parts of Oaxaca, Mexico providing medical care, vector transmission control, and prevention education.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: healthy tips that are easy to incorporate into the busy working life
Learn: Humanity. It is something that you can never stop learning and is often lost in medicine
Share: experiences, connections, and interactions
